Sahasratra Dhara - Dehradun (Uttarakhand)

Sahasratra Dhara is situated at a distance of 11 kms from Dehradun city. Sahasratra Dhara means 'thousands fold spring'. This place is an ideal picnic spot and is of immense attraction to tourists. River Baldi and the caves provide a breathtaking view. Sahasratra Dhara has a waterfall of about 9 meters and leaves an incrustation of lime of all its touches. Particles thus accumulating over the centuries have formed a projecting ledge, and a sort of cave, from the roof of which falls a perpetual shower. There is a Sulphur spring where tourists often take bath because it is said that the water cures skin infections and possess other medicinal properties.
